Add an Alert to KPI

Add an Alert to KPI

You can set up email alerts to get notified when a KPI value on the dashboard reaches a particular threshold. You will be sent an email alert when the threshold is met.
To set your alert for a particular KPI:
  1. Select the dashboard you want to set a KPI alert on.
  2. Filter to the specific subset of data that you want to be alerted on (E.g. Facility = "Los Angeles, CA")
  3. Hover your mouse over the KPI to which you want to add an alert and right-click
  4. Select Add Data Monitoring
  5. Configure the alert parameters as described below, and click OK.
right click on the KPI and select Add Data Monitoring

Configuring the Alert Parameters

On the Basic Information tab you can change the name and description, select your condition and enter the threshold value for which you want to be notified.  Condition options will include "Greater Than or Equal To", "Equal To", Greater Than", "Less Than", "Less Than or Equal To". Use a uniquely descriptive name in the "Name" value.

Next, select the Notification tab and enter your email address. Only a single email address per data monitoring alert is allowed.
You can change the Content of the message. Strings preceded by a $ (e.g. $field $condition $threshold) are variable names that will pull values from those shown on the Basic Information tab.
You also have the option to send the alert just once, or continuously.

Finally, schedule the Execution Plan for either a Daily (you choose which days and what time of day) or Monthly.
If this alert is for testing purposes, be sure to set an End Date.

Click OK to save the alert.
Once you receive the alert, the link will bring you back to the dashboard of interest.
