Have Dakota Build Custom Dashboards For You

Dakota's Services team builds dashboards tailored to your organization's Insights workspace. Custom dashboards appear in your left-hand menu above standard dashboards and include all standard capabilities: filters, drilldown, export, scheduled exports, and KPI alerts.

To request one, come prepared with:

1. A defined business intelligence goal for the dashboard
   
2. The ProActivity data model it should draw from
   
3. Your preferred chart types, colors, and default filter settings (including date range)
   
4. Target values for any trend comparisons you want to track
   

If you have a KPI or data point in mind that isn't in the standard dashboards, ask — we'll let you know if it can be added.

Entirely new custom data models are also available, but require additional lead time to design, build, and test.

This Incident and Near Miss dashboard has a customer-defined Fiscal Year.

Dashboard Insights Best Practices

Keep these best practice guidelines in mind when requesting your Insights dashboard(s):

Focus on key metrics that are actionable and meaningful	Turn it into a data dump – clarity beats comprehensiveness
Make insights clear at a glance using layout and hierarchy	Bury key takeaways in visual noise or excessive detail
Enable interactivity: filters, drill-downs, and hover details for deeper exploration	Overwhelm with too many filters or complex navigation.
Provide context – include trends or comparisons to give metrics meaning	Display raw numbers without context
